3. Definitions

This Privacy Policy uses the terms as defined in the GDPR, including: personal data, data subject, processing, restriction of processing, profiling, pseudonymisation, controller, processor, recipient, third party, and consent.

4. Cookies

Our website may use cookies. Cookies are small text files stored by the browser on the user’s device. They help provide a more user-friendly service, optimise content and offers, and recognise a returning browser. You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. If cookies are disabled, some features of the website may not function properly.

5. Collection of general data and information (server logs)

Each time our website is accessed, a series of general data and information is automatically collected and stored in server log files (e.g. browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, sub-pages accessed, date and time of access, IP address, ISP and similar data). These data are not used to identify the data subject but to ensure correct delivery of the website content, optimise the website, guarantee long-term functionality of our systems and provide necessary information to law-enforcement authorities in the event of a cyberattack. Anonymous log data are stored separately from any personal data provided by a data subject.

6. Contact via the website

If you contact us by e-mail or via a contact form, the personal data you transmit will be stored for the purpose of processing your request and contacting you. These data will not be passed on to third parties.

7. Routine erasure and blocking of personal data

We process and store personal data only for the period necessary to achieve the storage purpose or as required by applicable laws or regulations. If the storage purpose no longer applies or a statutory retention period expires, the personal data are routinely blocked or erased in accordance with legal requirements.

8. Rights of the data subject

Under the GDPR you have, inter alia, the following rights: right to confirmation, right of access, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restriction of processing, right to data portability, right to object, rights related to automated decision-making including profiling, and right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details above.

9. Data protection for applications and in the application process

We collect and process personal data of applicants for the purpose of handling the recruitment process. Processing may also take place electronically (e.g. by e-mail or web form). If an employment contract is concluded, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of the employment relationship in compliance with legal requirements. If no contract is concluded, the application documents will be deleted two months after notification of the rejection decision, unless other legitimate interests (e.g. obligations to provide evidence under the AGG) apply.

10. Legal basis for processing

Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract or pre-contractual measures), Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation), Art. 6(1)(d) GDPR (vital interests), Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).

11. Legitimate interests pursued by the controller

Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest is the conduct of our business in favour of the well-being of our employees and shareholders and the provision of a secure and performant web offering.

12. Storage period

The criterion for the storage period of personal data is the respective statutory retention period. After expiry of that period, the corresponding data will be routinely deleted, provided they are no longer necessary for the fulfilment or initiation of a contract.

13. Obligation to provide personal data

In part, the provision of personal data is required by law (e.g. tax regulations) or may be necessary for the conclusion of a contract. In certain cases, a contract cannot be concluded without the provision of the necessary data. We will inform you on a case-by-case basis whether the provision of personal data is legally or contractually required or necessary for the conclusion of a contract and what the consequences of non-provision would be.

14. Existence of automated decision-making

As a responsible company, we do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

15. Use of social media plugins

Our website may use social media plugins (e.g. Facebook/Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn). When visiting such pages, a direct connection to the provider’s servers may be established, transmitting your IP address and, if logged in, linking the visit to your account. If you do not wish this, please log out of your social media accounts. For details, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective providers.

16. Google Maps

This site uses the Google Maps API (provider: Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC, USA). To use Google Maps, your IP address may be transmitted to and stored on Google servers.
